A challenge cut short
I set off from Weymouth at 7am on Saturday 18 May to take on the Jurassic Coast 100km Challenge. The route delivered sweeping sea views, steep grassy slopes and the unmistakable landmarks of this remarkable coastline.
The photographs show the scale of the terrain, including the paths around Durdle Door, as well as the 50km marker and an overnight stop. By then, the challenge had moved well beyond an ordinary coastal walk.
It was disappointing not to reach the 100km finish, but 65km over nineteen hours was still a substantial effort. The sensible decision was to stop when I became unwell. I came away with the experience of a demanding day and night on the Jurassic Coast—and plenty of photographs to remember it by.
